ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Christopher Rauschenberg captured this photograph in Seattle in 1979. The image was part of an exhibition at Blue Sky Gallery in Portland in 1980. It was included in a 1982 catalog of the artist's photographs published by Pair-o'-dice Press.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Corrections.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Christopher Rauschenberg is a Portland, Oregon-based photographer. His collage-like photographs are like a collage. They often capture groupings of different images and objects from his life and travels.
Rauschenberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography from The Evergreen State College in Olympia. He taught at Marylhurst College in Lake Oswego, Oregon from 1982 to 1996. He is a co-founder of Portland's Blue Sky Gallery, Nine Gallery co-op, and Photolucida festival.
