ABOUT THE ARTWORK

P-L-011-C (Siamese) is a painting by artist Jo Hockenhull. She based the imagery on an X-ray image of a Siamese cat. She created the smooth, precise composition by blocking out areas with stencils and airbrushing on paint. Describing her inspiration, she notes, "I am fascinated by parallels between the anatomies of humans and other animals."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with South Kitsap School District.
