(American, born 1936, died 2009)

Location: Washington State Arts Commission, Olympia

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Ocean Beach, Moss Wall is part of late artist James Sahlstrand's series "Photographs of Washington State." He produced the photographs over the course of a year. He noted, " I attempted to photograph in as many geographical areas of the state as possible: the ocean, mountains, forests and the many aspects of the state east of the Cascades. I was in favor of the decision to not limit the work to any local area but, rather, to explore the various qualities of Washington as a whole."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
