ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Late artist James Sahlstrand captured this photograph overlooking the Yakima River Canyon. The image show a bend in the river, viewed from above on Highway 10.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Natural Resources.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist James Sahlstrand (1936-2009) was a nationally recognized photographer. Based in Ellensburg, Central Washington, he taught at Central Washington University for more than 30 years. He received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Minnesota.
