ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Joyce Moty's sculpture Memory Gem is composed of colorful enamel panels that depict stylized imagery of wildlife threatened by urban development. Intermixed with the enamel parts are mirrored panels, which capture the ever-changing scenery of the surrounding environment. Students, and all viewers, who view the mural become integrated into its concept and composition via the mirrors.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
