Elisabeth Haight
(Nationality unconfirmed)

Location: White Swan High School, White Swan

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Elisabeth Haight's stained glass windows reflect the local landscape of White Swan in Central Washington. We see the clear blue sky, nearby Cascade mountains, and the green and yellow squares of fields of crops. Haight included several traditional woven baskets in the stained glass design as a reference to the Yakama Nation lands where the town of White Swan is located. One of the baskets holds apples and pears, which are grown in the area. Elisabeth Haight created this artwork for White Swan High School very early in her career, within a year after graduating from The Evergreen State College in Olympia.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mount Adams School District.
