Part of artist Juliana Heyne's series of garden paintings, Northwest Garden #10: Autumn intricately layers colors and forms to depict the unique and complex nature of her garden. She considers these paintings a form of self-portraiture, capturing characteristics and changes throughout different seasons.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Renton School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based painter Juliana Heyne captures imagery based on her travels near and far. She is inspired by the beauty of aging cities, construction sites, and natural structures in the middle of nowhere. In her own words "No matter the subject matter, there's some kind of beauty at its core that draws me."
