ABOUT THE ARTWORK

By Jim Parrots is a humorous woodblock print created by artist Mark Bulwinkle. It features many stylized animal figures surrounding howling dog. This piece is part of his book of prints titled "What I Saw On My Summer Vacation in Oregon," published in 1985. The book chronicles a rafting trip he took on the Rogue River.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

California-based artist Mark Bulwinkle creates prints, paintings, and ironworks. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1974. In addition to his artistic practice, he works as a welder.
