(American, born 1950)

Location: Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary, Cle Elum

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Bander Mountain, Upper Snoqualmie Valley is part of artist David Best Grant's photographic exploration of the towns and rural areas of the Snoqualmie Valley, only an hour's drive east of Seattle. He notes that this image "captures a typical Pacific Northwest mood. The low early morning clouds hanging just above the trees, the soft sunlight on the mountain's snow cap, and the delicate details of the dark cloak of evergreens all depict Cascade Range character on a late winter morning."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Cle Elum-Roslyn School District.
