ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Night Runners is an intricate and whimsical colored-pencil drawing by artist Bet Borgeson. Many of the artist's drawings depict a narrative that is open for interpretation by the viewer, and aim to "engage the viewer as a collaborator." Featuring different dog breeds racing under the moonlight, this piece is meant to communicate a sense of wonderment and exuberance-- what the artist describes as "a kind of glorious magic that makes all manner of things possible if not obstructed by limitations of imagination, courage, or heart."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tonasket School District.
