ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Broken Back Barn depicts an abandoned farm in Boulder Park, Washington. Using expressive brushstrokes, artist Ron McGaughey captures the majestic landscape of North Central Washington. Describing his process of painting in the field, McGaughey notes: "I drive to areas that still seem somewhat uninhabited; places that are quiet and give a sense of the integrity of the land itself."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Brewster School District.
