(American, born 1942)
Location: Endicott-St. John Middle School, St. John
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Homework is a glass and fabric sculpture created by collaborating textile artist Louise Kodis and glass artist David Glass. Together they created a landscape with the three images of a house, displayed a various distances. They note that this composition "mimics the experience we have every day when leaving or returning to our home. We both have our studios in our home, so it is fun to create a play on words with the title: Homework."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Endicott School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Textile artist Louise Kodis and glass artist David Glass began collaborating in 1981 on glass and fabric sculptures. They note, "The collaborations offer us a way of working with familiar materials in new ways-and really recharge our creative batteries."
