(American, born 1945)

Location: Timbercrest Junior High, Woodinville

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Twisted Fiber Pouch by Pam Beyette is created from recycled materials such as copper, stainless steel, brass, and telephone wire. Beyette collected the materials from dismantling yards such as the Seattle Iron and Metals Corporation and the Boeing Company's Surplus Store. It is part of the artist's "Industrial Amulets" series of large, mixed-media sculptures. Beyette states, "Because of my commitment to the environment, I frequently use recyclable and reusable materials. My dream is that we eventually transform all our 'junk into gems.'"

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
