ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Juggler is a hand-stitched and stretched quilt by textile artist Suzi Hokonson that features a pattern of concentric curves and geometric forms. The composition references mandalas, intricately designed circular patterns that symbolize wholeness and totality in Buddhism and Hinduism.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Kitsap School District.

Suzi Hokonson is a Spokane, Eastern Washington-based textile artist who creates quilts that explore color relationships and geometric forms.
Hokonson is a graduate of Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington. She is a quilt historian, teacher, and lecturer.
