Antique Market II, 1994

Sherrie Wolf
(American, born 1952)

Location: Cascade Middle School, Sedro-Woolley

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Antique Market II is a still-life painting by artist Sherrie Wolf. It is part of her body of richly detailed and realistic paintings that explore texture, light, reflection, and space. She notes, "I avidly collects objects that, in contrived combinations, create still-life settings from which my images are drawn. Strong light and shadow make dramatic stage sets that create stories and dynamic interaction of forms, in a deep, complex space. I am interested in how objects interact, and the drama and life they take on when juxtaposed."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Sedro-Woolley School District.
