(American, born 1959)

Location: Pierce County Skills Center, Puyallup

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Celebrating one of man's most elemental and essential tools, ‘Hit or Miss' is made up of a 15-foot high sculptural hammer and seating elements representing hammered nails. Installed at the entrance to the Pierce County Skills Center in the south Puget Sound city of Puyallup, Artist Peter Reiquam metaphorically represents the center's mission, "which encourages students to learn through hands-on experience and that failure is an integral part of success."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
