ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Pam Beyette's granite and bronze sculpture Arborvitae uses the western redcedar to represent learning and development. The iconic Pacific Northwest tree's cone is shown in its early seed form at Little Cedars Elementary, and in its more mature flowering stage at nearby Glacier Peak High School (both in Northwestern Washington). Students interact with the two artworks at different stages in their own life and education, as they mature, like the western redcedar cone.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Snohomish School District.
