ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Anne Byerrum created Promises as an homage to her brother, who kept her thinking of a bright future while she was undergoing treatment for cancer. The tree imagery represents interconnectedness and symbolizes "the crystallization of that hope."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Riverview School District.
