Lepidopteran Bouquet, 2001
Katherine Holzknecht
(American, born 1954)
Location: Sorenson Early Childhood Center, Bothell
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Lepidopteron Bouquet' is part of artist Katherine Holzknecht's series of "Industrial Bouquets" wall sculptures comprised of mixed metal and found materials. The artist notes that the series "started during the winter, that long season of cloudy, cool and dark days when flowering plants become a fond memory. I decided to make some permanent bouquets that could hang on the wall, and not be affected by the seasons and weather."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
