ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Derived from drawings and photographs of the natural world, artist Karin Schminke's artworks 'Revelation' and Aquatinia invite contemplation of her expressive and abstracted depiction of trees. As a lenticular print, the imagery of this artwork changes and shifts depending on the point of view.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Seattle School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Northwest artist Karin Schminke creates mixed media artworks that combine digital imaging with traditional art materials. Her works explore natural forms and imagery.

Karin Schminke received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. She has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, California State University Northridge, The Art Institute of Southern California, and Shoreline Community College. She lives and works in Kenmore, Western Washington.
