Thunderbird (detail) by artists Andrew Wilbur and Greg Colfax. Photo by Stacey McRae. Gracing the entrance of the Longhouse on the campus of the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Thunderbird was carved by Greg Colfax, Makah, and Andrew Wilbur, Skokomish.
Field of Wishes (detail) by Gloria Bornstein. Photo by Mark Gerth. Seattle artist, Gloria Bornstein's public artwork, Field of Wishes, was dedicated at Olympic College in Shelton in 2005. Field of Wishes is an exterior stainless steel sculpture consisting of five 10 to 12 1/2 feet tall dandelion forms.
Slide Guitar. Photo by Keven Eliff, Centrum. Renowned guitarist Mike Dowling (on the left) teaches the finer points of bottleneck slide guitar at the Port Townsend Slide and Steel Festival at Centrum. The Festival is a total-immersion workshop presenting many styles of slide guitar music and pedal steel guitar music and includes workshop sessions, faculty demonstrations, tutorials, concerts, open jams, parties, and informal and spontaneous gatherings.
